At a 'breastfeeding education day' at work yesterday the subject of CMV came
up.
I mentioned how some NICU's freeze the EBM for the LBW (1500g or<) as it
kills the CMV. No one had heard of this practice and some of these staff
have recently worked in NICU's in Melb. (we do not have a NICU where I work,
just Level 2 SCN)

So my question is, are there any NICU's in Australia that do practice this,
and if so would it possible to have a look at their protocols?
how do they inform parents? Handouts?
And how widespread is this practice?

Thanks for the info
