It is often frustrating for me to see discussions where the question or
quote of a lactnetter is not attributed to that person in a subsequent
response. I want to know who said or asked what without finding the
original post, so I'd like to respectfully request that subsequent posts
identify the original writer.

Adding to my frustration is the fact that it's often difficult or
impossible to find the original post. Subsequent posts frequently have
similar, but not identical, subject lines, so when I sort posts by subject,
I can't find all of the posts on one subject. So I'd like to respectfully
request that we resolve to use the *same* subject heading as the original
post when we're responding.

Similarly, if you say that "a study says X" please give the citation for
the study. A full citation would be terrific, but if you can give only the
author and year, that would be enough to help others find the study.

Identifying people and sources is just common courtesy and certainly good
netiquette. If we're sophisticated enough to be on the net, we should be
able to do this.
