 Re: toys in the cot.  It's fine when the baby is awake.  It's a safe little play area while the parents do things like go to the bathroom.  :-)

Re: autoimmune cluster
Sally, I also interned at WIC while in the UCSD program, and I remember a young mother who had gotten a Mirena (hormonal) IUD right after the birth of her second baby, and she also had a sudden dip in milk production about 4 weeks pp.  The Mirena website this is rare, but possible.  I suspect it's more common than is reported.  Now, the IUD could be removed--but her doctor said it was impossible that it was from the IUD and would not take it out--but the shot can't.  I know nothing about the autoimmune disorders mentioned, though.
