This little story of mine is not scientific either but
it had a great outcome using OATMEAL.

My firstborn daughter (18 years ago)was born 8 lbs 4
oz, she went home from the hospital 4 days later at 7
lbs 10 oz. My breastfeeding education came entirely
from my mom who was great but we were sinking fast.
My exclusively breastfed daughter was weighed at 2
weeks and only weighed 7 lbs 12 oz. The intervention
of my health care provider was going to be a turning
point in my life. She valued my breastmilk and my
decision to exclusively breastfeed. I did not know
there were such people. I must say I was an
inexperienced mother and did not have the passion then
for it as I do now. The midwife who weighed her could
have interfered with our breastfeeding relationship in
any number of ways, as you know and I would have done
what she suggested. But she did not. Her advice
supported our efforts to breastfeed and shared our
value of human milk. She asked a few simple questions
like how clean was my house (sparkling!) and did I get
rest (what? And not have a clean house?), and was I
eating properly (there was noooo time) and then asked
my husband the same questions and gave him a recipe
for OATMEAL banana nut bread and instructed him to
make 2 loaves, and instructed me to eat a couple of
slices a day for my energy needs (very practical and
fast nutrition) and to take the baby to bed with me
(What???) and to let the house go for the rest of the
week.

My daughter gained 12 ounces in one week! And I got
more rest and nutrition and a much happier baby. Talk
about mothering the mother and father as a family!!!!
She changed my life, now I help others likewise.
