This is a simply fascinating thread for me. I seem to remember the name Truby King from my early childhood in Ohio. Many of the themes I am reading thus far in reviewing the previous posts are startlingly reminiscent of the theories of nutrition and other principles my grandmother (a very intelligent and assertive woman who attended college in Pennsylvania in the late 19th century) obviously used with her family of 6 (the first born in 1904, and the last in 1926). 


I remember her also using them in guiding my own mother (1910-1956) in our childhood. I have not yet found the chapter on infant feeding, but I am wondering whether or not those rules the doctors gave me for starting with OJ at 2 weeks etc. for my own children that I quoted in my post yesterday may have had their start with him.
