Zena-
The question to ask is simply, "why?" Why is this happening?

The first thing that comes to my mind is postpartum Thyroiditis. If nothing
has changed in mom's life, she isn't on hormonal birth control, no new meds,
no changes in nursing patterns, no big changes in life, nada nada, then I'd
ask for a thyroid panel and prolactin test to see if those things are
behaving normally. Ask if mom feels normal health-wise or if she feels off.
*Something* has changed!
