It is not permanent. My sister (65 years old) is diabetic and gets thrush
occasionally. She has used GV for it several times and always gets purple
teeth but it has resolved each time.  She has never had it polished off,
just brushing of her teeth.

She does use a baking soda based toothpaste which may help.
