Remember that tongue-tie, like many things, comes in degrees.  It is still
quite controversial among pediatric ENTs when and if surgical intervention
is indicated.  I certainly wouldn't want to intervene in a baby whose
frenulum "looked" tight if the baby was nursing well -- just like tonsils
that "look big" don't have to come out unless they are causing FUNCTIONAL
problems, like sleep apnea.
