Two thoughts about sipping breast milk.

1.The taste of breast milk may change from freshly pumped which is sweet tasting to milk which has been in a container. The amylase and lipase in milk will start the process of digestion and change the taste of the milk although it is still good for the baby of course.

2.I have often thought that if people realized what health benefits were present from drinking breast milk they would all want to drink it. I seem to remember something about breast milk being used as a therapy in adults for some GI diseases in the past but can't recall the reference. Have done lots of reading recently in preparation for taking the IBCLC exam.
