Martha, I think the latter is the first choice to look for answers. Could it
be the *way* she applies the cabbage? Could she be pressing to hard on a
small spot or something like that? That way the plugs would keep on coming
back and forth and eventually lead to reducing supply. If mom states the
plugs heal, just what does she mean? Is the tenderness or reddness
increasing or is the plug *really* gone. I notice in working with some moms
that if not asked in different ways and asking for more information, moms do
sometimes not know excactly what to look for or how to describe what they
feel or notice. Recurrent plugged ducts in my experience almost always point
to some mismanagement in either breasthandling or feeding schedules
(qualtive and quantative) or to a stressed mom (I mean very busy, not able
to give herself some rest and/or worrying a lot)
As for the cabbage leaves: they are used in natural medicine for all kinds
of inflammations and infections and I don't think that they have any effect
on the milk producing process.

Greetings,
