Not BF related but she'll need to take it easy for about six weeks - no vacuuming, carrying groceries, heavy lifting, etc. I don't remember what the weight limit was but she might even need help with lifting the baby in/out of bed once he/she gets over 10 lbs. My mum had her gallbladder out in 1998 and I remember these were the restrictions she was given following the laproscopic procedure. In terms of BF, as someone has already said, if she's awake enough to sit up she's awake enough to BF. Lots of pillows to help support baby and help reduce the pressure on her sore midsection. She'll have three punctures and they'll be tender for some time.
