I came across an ad today in a little catalogue of "useful products" and
can't resist sharing it with all of you.  The blurb reads, "At last, you can
feed your baby with just one  hand, leaving one hand free for other things
without compromising your baby's safety.  Fits over your shoulder and holds a
bottle in a natural feeding position.  Comfortable one-size-fits-all design."
It's a wide strap which fits over one shoulder, crosses around the waist on
the opposite side, and presumably fastens to the other end behind the back.
 There's a loop to stick a bottle through, which is adjusted to mid-chest
height.  (I guess the feeding position IS "natural" if your nipple deviates
90 degrees laterally.)  The happy mother is talking on a phone, looking away
from the baby, who is sucking on the bottle.  Ain't science wonderful, to
devise a method that allows one-handed feeding?  (I don't know whether to
laugh at the absurdity or cry for a society that values such distancing from
its children.)
