Hi Pat -
I have been teaching moms to use ice cube trays to freeze milk since the mid-80's. Dropping them into a food-grade ziplock-style baggie is a good idea but I recommend a second step. If the cubes are in the baggie and mom has a self-defrosing freezer, they will slighlty defrost and refreeze and eventually stick together. I suggest that mom places the food grade baggie inside a paper grocery sack. The paper is an excellent insulator and decreases the problem with the cubes sticking together. Most standard size ice cubes are about 1-oz.

grade baggie as soon as solid. Pat in SNJ
