Lisa Marasco,
I speak as a family member, not an expert. I write to suggest
that the TS your Ped suggested your son might have is Tourette's
Syndrome, a neurological disorder marked by tics, either verbal
(repeating or saying words out of the blue) or motor (like the
"unconscious habits" your son has). My 17 year old brother was diagnosed
with Tourette's and high-functioning autism (Asberger's Syndrome) at
about 11 or 12 y.o. He clears his throat constantly, and has other tics,
but I haven;t lived with him for so many years, I can't say what they
are. Autism, Tourette's, AD(H)D, and learning disabilities are all
neurological (not psychological), tend to occur in clusters in the same
individual, are more common in boys, and can be genetic. I don't know
about his infant feeding habits, but he very much enjoyed BF until at
least 2 years. (Did the original post-er about Turner's say it was only
females affected, or am I thinking about something else?)

thanks for listening! Sally
