This Christmas was very special for us because my grandson Sebastian is now
13 months old. Last year at this time he was only a week out of the
hospital, as he had been born prematurely and had some breathing
difficulties at first. I am delighted to say that despite the challenges of
his month-long hospital stay, Sebastian has never had any liquids except his
mother's milk (and a little water from a cup in the past month), has never
had a bottle, continues to be very healthy (has never had an ear infection
or gastrointestinal problem and has had maybe two or three brief colds in
total) and is a happy, cheerful and lovely baby. Yes, this is grandmotherly
bragging but I know that if had not learned so much about managing
breastfeeding with a premature baby thanks to Lactnet and other experts,
things would not have turned out so well for our little guy. Thank you!
