Dear Friends:
 
Do babies ever loose this ability? I wonder, especially after reading Mary 
Herrington's story about her son. Gill Rapley, from the UK, says that babies can 
always feed themselves, and speculates that some of the feeding battles that 
can occur with older babies is because they want to feed themselves, and not 
have someone shoveling in spoonfuls of slurried foods.
 
As for using the breast crawl in breastfeeding recovery, the oldest baby I've 
yet seen was about 5 weeks old.
