I love the idea of a Spanish "course" at an ILCA Conference. I love
going and seeing everyone and exchanging ideas, but the sessions
don't hold the same interest for me as once (I've been around too
long I guess). An intensive Spanish "crash course" would make a
great pre-Conference day! This way the learning would be specific
to the needs of an LC. Even the Spanish (or other languages) for
Health Professionals courses don't really fit us. There is some
overlap, but an LC can get along just fine without knowing how to
ask about a prostate or other male concerns. Knowing how to teach a
Hispanic patient how to care for a colostomy is beyond our needs.
However, I suspect there aren't many lessons that go into much
detail about nipples, latch, MERs etc.
I am trying desparately to catch up with Lactnet. I tried to go
NOMAIL, but it didn't work, so my husband transferred all the
digests to Word and kept them on a disc to free up our e-mailbox.
I'm now up to yesterday.
