Yes, ultrasound treatment for engorgement, blocked ducts and mastitis is
commonly used here in Australia. A  randomised double blind trial has been
conducted on ultrasound for engorgement.

McLachlan, Z. et al. 1991. Ultrasound treatment for breast engorgement: a
randomised double blind trial. Aust Journal of Physiotherapy. 37:22-29.

This study did not detect any objective beneficial effect with regard to
engorgement however it is a very popular treatment amongst health
professionals and mothers. The authors in this study concluded that its
perceived effectiveness was possibly due to a combination of warmth, rest,
massage, attention and emotional, practical and information support.

I still recommend this treatment for mothers with recurrent blockages not
responding to conventional means of drainage. Mums do appear to get a good
let down with the ultrasound (again ?the ultrasound or ?a combination of all
of the support and attention) which if followed directly by a feed (or some
like to do a manual stripping although not a favourite practice of mine)
this often leads to movement of the blocked segment.
