Yes, I would think so. Most lumps in lactating breasts are going to be
something along the lines of a blocked milk duct.
Did you say how long she had had this lump before the surgeon panicked?
If only a matter of days, it was most likely something to do with
lactation. It it had been there for weeks, it could *possibly* be more
serious.
Mammography is usually *not* helpful in lactating breasts. Even in
nonlactating breasts, lumps/cancer may not be detected - so not to be
completely relyed on.
