Always blame breastfeeding!

Lead levels in breastmilk are lower than in formulas, probably even in
women with high blood levels, though I don't think this has been
demonstrated.

But, why would the baby's high lead levels not be due to their exposure
during pregnancy, rather than from breastfeeding, eh? Eh? You are
right. Why does your correspondent not understand this?

Furthermore, the women who are involved are in the very situation where
breastfeeding has the greatest benefit. They are generally poor, they
live in difficult circumstances. Let us not forget all the risks of
formula feeding. Let us not forget babies poisoned by lead in the water
supply.
