Hi all,

This is a clarification about the Lactnet guidelines. When you post about a
mother's situation, if your post contains identifying information about
other people than the mother you are helping, whose permission you have of
course obtained, please remove the other identifiers before posting to the
list, if you are not able to get the permission of those mentioned in the
post yourself.

Examples of identifying info are place names, names of professionals the
mother has been in touch with, and names of institutions.

As I write this it seems blatantly obvious why this is a good idea, but it
wasn't obvious enough to us that we included it in the guidelines. It was
brought home to us very clearly a while back, and this is in response to the
situation that arose. That situation is now resolved, but we'd like to
avoid similar ones in future, hence this message.
