Jay;

funny, I have a similar but simpler recommendation. I often suggest that the
mom and baby get into a nice warm tub and play for awhile. Then try to nurse
in the tub. Sometimes just hanging out naked helps. Plus the warm water
might help prevent plugged ducts. (I also suggest dipping a wash cloth in
the warm water and placing it on the breasts if there is discomfort.)

For kids who do well with transitions, your ideas provide a myriad of
calming activities. For kids who freak with transitions, this might make
them worse even if nothing was wrong. Similarily my suggestion might not
work for children who are just plain bored. You've given me some great ideas
too!

Rachael
