Does anyone have a reference for the amount of milk considered average or adequate for a pumping mom of an NICU baby. The range I would anticipate for a 24 hours period once the milk is in would be 16-24 oz., but I have done literature searches and looked in the usual texts without finding an amount cited. I realize there is a wide variance, but if we are going to evaluate the effectiveness of a pump, a typical or anticipated amount or a reference point would be helpful.
