A story broke in our news services this week, about how human milk inhibits
the growth of brain tumor cells. This was in vivo research using human
brain tumor cells transplanted into rats and then treated with substances
from human milk. The research is a collaboration between the University of
Bergen, Norway and Lund University in Lund, Sweden. I don't see any English
language versions of the news report on my news websites, but the study was
published 'recently' in the periodical 'Cancer Research'; the author names
to look for would be Catharina Svanborg, Walter Fischer, and Rolf Bjerkvig.
It isn't clear from the popular media reports who wrote the article, but all
these people are mentioned.
