I wrote the following response. (Since I noted all the ones I read were
from Canadians, I identified myself as a "summer resident" although it has
been a few years since we visited my folks' cabin in ON.)

"The jump from breastfeeding is natural, so is vomiting and both shouldn't
be done in public is quite a big one. Urinating is natural, but some do it
via a catheter or ostomy. You wouldn't accept hanging a catheter bag on the
restaurant table. That would be unacceptable. When it comes to feeding
infants, however, it is perfectly acceptable to feed unnaturally
(bottle/formula) anywhere, so doing it naturally should be at least as
acceptable. If women can't breastfeed wherever they are when baby needs it,
then bottle feeding in public should be banned also!"

I really get fed up with those who claim that just because breastfeeding is
natural we should lump it in with other natural bodily functions and treat
it the same way. That's why I took the approach I did in this case rather
than extol the virtues of breastfeeding which I don't think would sway the
original writer and used the "if the unnatural application is not socially
acceptable, the same should apply to infant feeding" angle.
