The UK Baby Friendly website has a wealth of information for parents, and
most of it may be freely downloaded if the conditions outlined on the site
are followed.
While a Baby-Friendly accredited facility is not permitted to have classes
for groups of mothers on how to prepare artificial feeds, they are of course
required to provide information on how to bottle feed without further
endangering the child's health, for those mothers who are not fully
breastfeeding. The materials are excellent, IMO. Info on bottle feeding is
not presented as an equivalent choice to breastfeeding. It is presented as
demanding, because it is. I think such information could be included in
information packs for all mothers, without undermining breastfeeding.
You can see the info on sterilizing equipment at:
http://www.babyfriendly.org.uk/parents/sterilising.asp

The people who maintain the website also send out research updates to anyone
who wants to be on their mailing list, at no charge. I recommend taking a
look at it.
