Dr. Shaw,
That was wonderful of you to gather all of that info and "go to bat" for
this nursing couple. What is the neurologist worried about specifically
for the 1 yr old? Perhaps if you promised to monitor the child, looking
for whatever it is that could happen to him, then the neuro would agree
to prescribe the beta interferon. I am not sure how it is given? By
mouth? Injection? Could he give her a 1 month trial or something like
that and re-evaluate?
Also many folks do not realize how a 1 yr old is nursing. Of course this
varies widely (as mine at 1 yr were nursing ALOT) but some 1 yr olds are
nursing just a little. This may ease his fears too if applicable.
