Hi Barb,

I have found, even here in the bf-backward Deep South, staff generally honor
a written birth plan. Often the family meets with the maternity manager or
coordinator prenatally, and leaves a copy of the birth plan in L&D. This is
wise. It is best if the OB or midwife and the pediatrician (or other
primary care provider for baby) sign off on it as well. Having said all
this, still I have to wonder: WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL ANYWAY, WHEN A MOTHER
WANTS TO ROOM-IN WITH HER BABY 24/7 AND BF EXCLUSIVELY? geesh. You need an
act of Congress to do it.
