Patricia:  Make sure the mom knows that the pump can transmit the yeast
(boiling and/or distilled vinegar and/or 10% bleach will kill).  Is the mom
symptomatic?  IF she is, she may need systemic treatment.  If she's not,
she at least needs to treat topically.

Gentian Violet--on mom and baby, albeit messy, generally has an immediate
effect for babies who won't nurse.  Can't blame the babies though...think
of how a vaginal yeast infection feels...would you want to nurse if your
mouth felt that way?  Short term use of GV (2 days) is not thought to have
toxic effects.  Anyway, Nizoral cream is usually more effective than the
active ingredient in gynelotrimin.  There is an entire protocol in LLLI's
Lact. Consult series #18 on Candidiasis.  I highly recommend taking an
aggressive tact with yeast...that may mean treating the whole family,
including the laundry and baby toys.

The mom could try cup feeding the baby or freezing breastmilk into
popsicles so they sooth the baby's mouth.  Freezing does NOT kill yeast, so
this would be just to get the milk into baby.
