Pam posted about her dedicated mom that took a LONG time to bring in
milk....sigh, wish some of the women I talk to could be that dedicated. I have spoken
to several this week who just gave up after 48-72 hours. One puzzler is a mom
who had triplets at 35 weeks, IVF who has been double pumping (she says) every
three hours for three weeks and only getting 15cc from both breasts. Using a
lactina. I suggested she try to find a Classic, discussed Fenugreek, More Milk
Plus and eventually Reglan as the last resort. I am unable to do an
outpatient consult d/t hospital and program restrictions (a whole 'nother story) and
gave her some PPLC numbers to contact. Babies have never been to
breast...suggested SNS and getting them there.
Will follow up call tomorrow and see what she decided to do. Any other
thoughts?
Have we really established the IVF - milk supply theory?
