Hi all,This afternoon I saw a baby in a mother's home. The baby has feeding difficulties and is feeding a lot from a bottle. I think I saw the baby has tracheomalacia. However when the mother spoke to the midwife after I saw the baby the midwife said that when she saw the baby yesterday the baby was fine. I saw a dip in the babies chest especially when the baby was crying, but not just when crying. As I don't see many normal babies these days and I rarely ask a mum to strip a baby down, I wanted to ask if a dip in the chest is normal. The doctor didn't see the baby but said it was nothing to worry about. When I spoke to the mother I thought I could hear in her voice a lack of confidence in me. I suspect I just need to let the mother work it out, but am wondering did I see an abnormality or not?Any thoughts please? Thanks in advance,Sarah McCann, BScHons, IBCLC, PgDip.www.BreastfeedingResourcesNI.co.uk
