Dear Friends:
I see two threads in this cloth.
Firstly, I remember some postulate, some theorem that says if a species
has a deficiency in greater than 3% of its reproductive process, that species
doesn't survive.
However, today is different. We are seeing women now that are using
every aide and injection possible or imagined to conceive. That is new. Cancer
survivors are now making babies and breastfeeding. Survivors of intensive care
nurseries are growing up to make babies. We are seeing babies of mothers
with chronic disease, including this latest mother in the news, in a coma from
spreading cancer. Babies to mothers over 50 or post-menopausal are asking to
breastfeed.
It makes sense to think that the old rules might not apply in lactation
either. Maybe now we are getting to more than 3% reproductive failure as a
species, and are on our way down..........or even out? We are poisoning the
air, changing the climate............sorry. I'll stop.
Maybe our technology is all a giant mutation? We are certainly changed
our reproductive processes, including lactation.
    warmly,
