I can speak personally about HELLP syndrome. I had HELLP syndrome with my twin pregnancy and did not experience lactogenesis 2 until Day 10. Still I would only pump drops at that time. 

My milk supply only increased once I started domperidone. Blessed thistle & fenugreek didn't seem to do much for me personally. But, I only started these herbs/domperidone once my BP had stabilized, kidney function & Liver enzymes returned to normal. I was told not to take anything other than my antihypertensives.

I can remember my OB at my 6 week post-partum visit advising me that under no circumstances should I be taking "anything". He was not very supportive of my goal to breastfeed twins & I was not an IBCLC at that time.

Maybe someone on Lactnet can answer to the safety of these herbs individually or have you checked with Dr. Hale's Infant Risk? Maybe they can help?
