A few bits and pieces:
Might the 6 week old be on a nursing strike or is this too young? Perhaps
follow the standard treatment for nursing strikes- feed (with whtaever)
when sleepy etc - make any difference????
Hospital based IBCLCs - a question - how rigorously do you chart? Do you
chart only problems? If you make follow up phone calls do you chart what
your patients tell you? Like, the baby wasn't nursing well in hospital. Mom
says baby is now nursing well and had 3 poops in 24 hours. Would you chart
that? Or only if Mom says baby is not doing well?
One of our patients today was claiming she bought a formula that said on
the label 'for breastfed babies'. Anyone else seen this?
