Mom has a 3 month old baby and in the past week or so, she's noticing small,
clear globules in her milk. She described it as looking like tapioca but not
as large. She sees this substance around her baby's mouth, in her milk if
she pumps and on her nursing pads. It's a gelatin-like substance that when
dry, appears to look like salt crystals.

Baby is growing well and otherwise thriving.

Mom has saline breast implants behind her pectoral wall. She spoke with the
doctor who did the implants and he assures her that there's no way any part
of the implant could get into her milk. I'm inclined to agree.

My first educated guess was that this might be fat globules, but I don't
know. I've never heard of this before. Have you? Any ideas?

I didn't even know how to begin doing a query on this subject otherwise I
would've searched the archieves -- I'll think about it and try that too though.

I briefly discussed with mom the idea of a lecithin supplement to see if
that helps.

Thanks ladies!
