PHyllis says:

<<I have been told by an RN at my hospital (she worked at a hospital in the
state of WA during their time of BFHI certification) that one requirement
is private postpartum rooms for all or most of the mothers.
True? Not true? Explanation?>>

Only in America could this even be a rumor. Has anyone seen the postpartum
WARDS in most other countries? And yet over 3,000 hospitals in those other
countries are Baby Friendly. Only 42 in the US of A are. No, we don't need
private rooms -- but we do need baby friendly staff and policies. And that,
in the US of A is probably harder to come by than the private rooms.
