Hello everyone
I loved Nikki's post about normal and the importance of attitudes. I have a hard time teaching normal according to nature when the staff (some of them, not all) make mom anxious about "your baby has to feed every two to three hours" and when they are sleepy and won't latch, that's when they fall back on formula. Which we know is the beginning of the end...

I spend so much time reassuring mothers that newborns are sleepy, they don't gulp at the breast for at least three days (but there is milk there) and that they don't have to pull back on the breast to be sure "baby is breathing". I always thought my work would get easier as I got older, and breastfeeding became more mainstream but I was dreaming.
