Ah, the huge sucking blister is a clue that this little guy is using his
upper lip to sweep milk out of the breast, instead of his tongue.

This would be difficult for him to do if he were truly deep enough on
the breast for his jaw and tongue to do the work instead. Try to use an
asymmetrical latch, planting his lower lip on the breast first, as far
away from the areola as possible, then rolling him onto the breast so
his upper lip touches the breast just beyond the nipple. Have mom
snuggle him so that his head is tipped back until his lower jaw extends
out as far as his upper jaw. That will give him the correct mechanical
advantage to breastfeed rather than use his lip. This is more easily
achieved in sidelying for some mothers.

Even with the best latch possible, it can take some micrognathic babies
several months before they can feed with perfect comfort for mom. She
might need "permission" to do some pumping and alternate feeding. Any
alternate feeding method should be chosen based on it's ability to
encourage this baby to use his tongue more and his lips less.
