Dear Netters,

There has been a lot of stuff about so-called "yuppie" illnesses in our press
lately. Since nearly all of us are chronic "over-doers," I was wondering how many
of you out there suffer from something or another as a result of getting run
down. After getting a third relapse of jaundice (found out it was due to Epstein-
Barr), I've decided to break the cycle by LISTENING TO MY BODY. Maybe we should
require LC's to take a stress management course! If anyone on Lactnet has had E-B,
I'd appreciate private e-mail with any info/support.

Next: I have a mom with an 8 1/2 month old baby who is hospitalized with an
intestinal blockage. The baby is on IVs after surgery. Doctor is not willing to
let the mom give breastmilk. Mother insists on nursing. When is breastfeeding
permitted following GI surgery? Seems to me that it is a lot more beneficial than
glucose - not to mention that this sick baby needs the comfort. (Mom needs it too.)

I have some info on homeopathic meds which I will share with you all once I organize
it.

The story with the dead animal made me chuckle. Reminds me of the time my neighbor
went away during the Israeli summer. ( Meaning HOT.) She blew a main fuse in the
house. The meat
in her fully stocked deep freezer rotted. After worrying that there might be a
dead body next door, we contacted the lady's daughter. Need I tell you
the lovely smell she got when she walked in. I was embarrassed to invite guests
over for weeks...

Regards, Susan
