While attending the Focus On The Family Physicians' Conference with my
husband last week, I sat in on a workshop in which the presenter was
describing her sense of isolation while enduring her husband's residency
and parenting two very young children.  "Every time I nursed my baby, it
seemed I was losing brain cells through the breastmilk!", she quipped.
Eighty nodding heads bobbed in understanding unison.  Unable to restrain
myself, I raised my hand and gently suggested, "As a lactation consultant I
understand your feelings, but I promise you that not one brain cell escaped
through your nipples."  Laughter all around.  The presenter narrowed her
eyes, placed her hands on her hips, and without missing a beat replied
slowly, "Show me your research..."

She got, of course, the biggest laugh of the whole day.
