Sorry, Ann, but breast feeding is both a Pediatric concern AND an obstetrical
concern.  As long as OB's are prescribing antibiotics, birth control, or other
things for their patients, questions will come up, and BOTH the OB  and the
Pediatrician should be capable of giving the best advice they can--or, if they
don't know , referring to someone who can.  In our institution, we have stupid
peole in both departments who need to be brought up to speed.  (A higher
percentage of the OB's show up at Grand Rounds, though and can be addressed
en masse, at least, but that doesn't guarantee any particular one will "walk
the walk."   Keep your references handy and see if the "good guy"
can enlighten his or her colleagues in the call-group!
