If anyone is looking for a good novel, in English, where breastfeeding is
mentioned, I recommend Anne Lamott's 'Crooked Little Heart'. Just finished
it myself. Apart from breastfeeding being an unremarkable normal part of
parenting, Lamott refers on several occasions to the adult characters'
longing for the warmth and safety of nursing. I was pleased to see the
breastfeeding relationship referred to as the ultimate image of loving
security. While this was something that jumped out at me, I doubt that it
would do that to readers who aren't especially concerned with breastfeeding,
and the book itself was so good in so many ways that it really is only a
minor aspect of it - but it's the only way I could work it into a Lactnet
post :-)

I have no financial interest in this book, nor in any of Lamott's other
published works, but I am a serious fan of hers.
