Perhaps if she is going for long stretches of time between pumpings that
milk is very thin and watery.  Maybe pumping more frequently would improve
the composition of her milk?

As I recall, when my friends and I became pregnant while breastfeeding, milk
supply didn't start to decline till months 3-4, well after the pregnancy was
diagnosed and after breast changes were quite obvious; even then, it
decreased the overall output but didn't seem to make the milk thinner.
