Living in Orlando and being a member of a church which held a regional
conference to train Ezzo instructors has given me more exposure to their
program than I'd like. I have had my share of severe cases related to the use
of this method for the last 5 years or so. DO NOT THINK THIS IS A United
States PROBLEM. Campus Crusade, a well known and active ministry group has
it's international headquarters in Orlando. They train missionaries to travel
the globe and they activly promote Growing Kids among the ranks. This means
that people in leadership positions will be taking this program with them as
the "ideal" way to raise Christian children. Do not ignore this program just
because you don't have it in your neighborhood- start educating people in your
community before it comes. I have presented every bit of information I have
available to my own church and they continue to offer classses. It would have
worked better if I had a chance to present it before they began classes- I
can't get  the leadership in my church to go against the elder (who has only 2
grown children) who feels it is a great program and the negative information
is "blown out of proportion".
      The Florida Lactation Consultant Assoc. has made their members aware at
meetings and in newsletters. They also offer packets of materials to inform
others. More task forces and breastfeeding advocacy groups need to at least
address the problem to inform members.
