Our infection control nurse recommends using Joy soap because it
apparantly contains a bit of alcohol. (Although I wonder if it
stays bound to the other ingredients or evaporates with exposure to
the air.) If not that particular one, probably any dish soap would
work. Since it is intended for things that touch food, You can
assume it rinses well enough not to leave any trace on the dishes.
Does the antimicrobial soap has any possibility of leaving some of
the antiseptic bahind? If so is this of any concern?

If there is a special concern about germs, perhaps the new microwave
bags might be in order, although I suspect the expense in the long
run may be a factor. Is anyone using these in NICUs or other places
where nursing children may be hospitalized?

Winnie
