Annette, the year I had a "Breastfeeding Saves Healthcare Dollars" bumper
sticker on my car, I found out that, aided & abetted by my dh, the kids put
black construction paper over it when they were going to be driven to school one
day. Then the paper came off, I never knew about it until much later.
Tim's friends used to call up to get our voice mail just to hear me say the "b"
word. (They needed to get a life). Both Tim & another of his friends would
call periodically pretending to be young mothers in distress. Tim actually
had me going for awhile -- dang, but he was good! He was "Cindy" who needed a
breastpump for preterm twins. Sam was "Lisa" that had sore nipples. (I
recognized his voice). But they all redeemed themselves when they wrote me a
breastfeeding rap that we put in the ILCA Globe back in the days when it was a
bit more chatty than it is now.

And one other time Torrey was having a party -- all the kids were
congregating in the kitchen (of course) when the phone rang and it was one of my
clients. With a death look on her face, Torrey came over and said, "Don't you DARE
say breast or nipple during this conversation." It's a bit tough to answer
some questions with those restrictions, but we managed.....actually, I think
it was just a call about storing breastmilk -- no biggie.

The kids are a lot older now, and the voice mail STILL has the "B" word on
it. I don't have ANY bumper stickers on my car, and the kids talk about
breastfeeding freely to their friends.

Tim has probably gotten the most mileage out of my job -- around his high
school it was acknowledged that "Tim's mom is a breast doctor." They couldn't
quite get their heads around "lactation consultant" though I had consulted w/
quite of few of their moms with their younger siblings! And Tim got a few
papers and speeches out of it.

So -- leave your license plate Annette....your daughter will either decide
driving isn't all that important, or she can live with the enormous
embarassment (in her eyes) that driving a "breastmobile" will cause her. And you will
all get a good chuckle out of it one of these days.
