This is hardly ideal if it must be re-passed. Passing an NG tube is uncomfortable [possibly painful] and can cause mild trauma. I would not be happy about frequent tube passage on my kids and consequently would not be happy to do it to someone elses......
It is also important to noter that for many sick infants it is actually important to give accurate and consistent volumes to avoid stressing the digestive processes.
Test weighing is certainly prone to inaccuracies due to vagaries of scales, baby behaviour, even human error.
