Hi All,

This epidural study is so timely for me - I was able to use it to give a
mother I saw yesterday a possible (notice I didn't tell her it was a direct
result.) reason for why her baby was having serious issues with BF. Baby is
currently 20 days old - still cannot suck for beans - disorganized, confused
about what to do with breast, breast with nip shield, and bottle, suck weak
and fairly ineffective, only able to get 4/10oz from an SNS at breast, and
takes 45min on a bottle that has a fairly fast flow to get 3 oz. Mom was
told that the epidural would NOT go to the baby at ALL so she had a 30 HOUR
epidural! She commented how baby just didn't seem interested at all in
sucking after birth or for the next several days. Gee I wonder why. When
the process of how epidurals work was discussed she realized that her Dr.s
LIED to her - she will be filing a complaint.

Can someone please point me to the study itself? I'd like to print out the
full research study if possible to keep it with me to show parents and Dr.s.

Thank you!

Jaye
