A study of one:
My son was born at 1474 grams (3 lb. 4 oz) and came home 17 days later at
2040 grams (4 lb. 6) -- his initial weigth loss was 6 oz, so he gained 24oz
in 17 days!!!
On breast milk only!!!  (I pumped q 1-1/2 - 2 hrs, and  once he was at
breast he ate at least that often as well.)
