Add these: change of routine; shortened &/or less frequent feeding during
the trip; baby wanting to nurse more than normally because of change of
environment, so mom perceives it's because her milk supply is low, when all
baby wants is more security.

Or baby is more distracted because of the trip and chose to nurse less; or
spent more time with sitters / relatives & nursed less. Then upon return
home, wants to return to 'normal' and finds the supply actually IS down.

Question: did baby actually go with mom or stay home?

One mom I knew (6+ children, all BF'd) claimed that a week-long family trip
to high altitude when little one was about 2-3 mos of age, started mom's
period. She was completely an attachment-style parent. After the return
home, mom resumed her amenorrheic (sp?) status for well over a year after
that one period. Yes, she conceived again after her regular periods
returned.

Maybe the change of altitude can have an effect on women. I wonder if it
has been reported by women who live at high altitude and go for vacations
on the beach?
